Explore the enormous fir trees and breathtaking views of UBC’s Loon Lake Lodge & Retreat Centre while focusing on personal development and growth! This weeklong overnight camp aims to provide youth with a dynamic and balanced week of activities and learning centred around 21st century life skills. Programming is drawn from the BC provincial curriculum’s core competencies: Communication, Creative and Critical Thinking, Positive and Personal Cultural Identity, Personal Awareness and Responsibility, and Social Responsibility. Campers will participate in mental health and technology literacy workshops, obtain their Emergency First Aid with CPR-C and AED certification, practise their public speaking skills and S.M.A.R.T. goal setting, learn more about environmental stewardship inside a leading research forest, and engage in a variety of skill building group games and challenges. Each day is structured with wellbeing in mind: mental health, inclusion, and healthy lifestyle components. Classic camp activities such as archery and swimming are also embedded throughout the week. Join us for this unique teen experience!
