UBC Performance Swim Camp will include all facets of stroke mechanics and drills for all strokes, dives, starts and turns. The camp will focus on the technical aspects of strokes, training, and physical conditioning. The different strokes will be reviewed, analyzed and corrective feedback will be provided throughout the week.Guests with National Swim Team experience will present at the camp. There will be two water workout sessions each day as well as related dry-land strength and conditioning workouts. In-water sessions will be complemented by on-deck and/or classroom sessions that will address a wide variety of sport performance topics. Overall, competitive swimmers will leave UBC Performance Swim Camp having refined their technique, learned new skills and feeling good about their approach to performance training.
Erin is a former UBC Varsity Team Captain and Junior National team member. Originally from Ontario, Erin moved to Vancouver in 2012 to pursue swimming at UBC, the top school in the country. During her 17-year swimming career her primary events were the 100m breaststroke and 200m individual medley. In her last USport championship Erin took home 4 medals, for a total of six top four placings.
Beside her own swimming career, Erin has been actively engaged as a coach for the past seven years. What started as just private backyard swim lessons turned into a true passion. Over her time in Vancouver, she has coaching with the Vancouver Pacific Swim Club, Vancouver Vikings Swim Club, UBC Performance Swim Camps, UBC Masters and Fastlane. Erin is excited to be taking on the role of UBC Performance Camp Manager, and she is confident in her ability to deliver high quality coaching to inspire and improve the next generation!

Beth has recently completed her Dietitian Education with the University of British Columbia and has started to work as a Dietitian at both Vancouver General Hospital and Copeman Health Care. Beth has always had a passion for sport – from playing soccer and volleyball competitively to running half marathons and triathlons to joining the UBC Women’s Rowing Team for a short window of time. From being both the athlete and the practitioner, Beth has a solid understanding of how important nutrition is for performance. Growing up in the small town of Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast, Beth has naturally developed impeccable communication and interpersonal skills – aspects that make teaching another passion of hers. Beth hopes to share how important nutrition is for young athletes, and tips to help them excel.
Pre-requisite: ability to swim 100m freestyle under 1:30 min and 200m individual medley under 4 min. UBC Performance Swim Camps are intended for competitive swimmers only (this is not a learn-to-swim program).
